Scott Havill-Restoration Ecologist

As a graduate student in the Urban Horticulture Department at The University of Washington, Scott received a certificate in Restoration Ecology where his research centered on the functionality and feasibility of live stakes to meet restoration goals. Scott received his B.S. in Environmental Studies and Biology from the University of Oregon.  Scott was the Manager of the Native Seed Network's Willamette Valley Native Seed Increase project where he led the collection and development of site appropriate seed sources for restoration projects in the Willamette Valley, OR. In addition, Scott owned and managed a restoration nursery in Talent, OR, called "The Siskiyou Project” and founded "Habitat Design", a restoration company in Seattle, WA. that  focused on slope stabilization and habitat development on private land in Washington. Other organizations with which Scott has worked include: Point Reyes Bird Observatory, the Association of Bay Area Governments, Audubon Canyon Ranch, and The Institute of Applied Ecology in Corvallis, Oregon.

Scott is now the Riparian Restoration Ecologist for The Watershed Nursery. His specialized bioengineering techniques and native propagule collection contribute to the Watershed Nurseries riparian restoration services.
