Matthew Grafton, Field Crew

Matthew began his career with plants working on farms in Northern California. It was there that he learned the basics of installing and caring for plants. He came to San Francisco out of curiosity and to experiment with cooperative living and urban farming. While living in Berkeley he met friend and mentor Scott Havill, a botanist and restoration ecologist. Scott showed Matthew the importance of not only caring for one's backyard but also caring for the living, breathing world all around us. Matthew began working  for the Watershed Nursery in June of 2007. Between learning from Scott, working for the Nursery and personal research, Matthew has gained extensive knowledge in the field of native plants
